BidX1 wins Gold at Deloitte’s Best Managed Companies Awards

BidX1 has been awarded the Gold Standard accolade by Deloitte’s business award programme, following four consecutive years as a Deloitte Best Managed Company.

Ireland’s Best Managed Companies continues to be the mark of excellence for privately owned and managed companies. Every year since the launch of the Irish programme in 2008, hundreds of entrepreneurial companies have competed for this designation in a rigorous and independent process that evaluates their management skills and practices.

The network of companies has a combined turnover of more than €15 billion and provide employment to over 45,000 people across a range of sectors from technology and healthcare to construction.

The Gold & Platinum winners were announced at a ceremony in the RDS in Dublin last Thursday, hosted by Kathryn Thomas and Bernard O’Shea.

A thorough judging process precedes the recognition each year, evaluating the entire management team and the business strategy of each company.

The judges examine a wide range of areas when assessing Ireland’s top privately-owned businesses, such as a business’ environmental, social and governance standards, strategic planning and talent strategy.

Commenting on the award, Jonathan Fenn, Chief Executive Officer at BidX1 said: “The Best Managed Company programme allows us to put our strategies, policies and procedures under the microscope; the process ties in with our strategic planning sessions each year, encouraging us to evaluate our growth strategies and past performance within a structured framework.

“We first became a Deloitte Best Managed Company in 2020, and we’re delighted to have achieved Gold status this year. Thank you to the incredible team at BidX1, and to our clients and partners, for being part of our journey to date.”

Brian Murphy, Lead Partner for Ireland’s Best Managed Companies Awards Programme, said: “The Irish economic growth story has been extraordinary, and we see this evidenced in the success of Irish indigenous businesses and the confidence shown by Best Managed Companies. Ensuring Ireland’s entrepreneurs and the companies they start get the support they need to grow and scale is crucial.”

Cathy Bryce, Managing Director, AIB Capital Markets, said: “AIB is proud to be the new lead sponsors of Ireland’s Best Managed companies. One of AIB’s core ambitions is to support Irish companies and their management teams in sustainable growth and development, something which is fully aligned with the goals of the BMC programme.”
