30 May 2016 / News

Allsop Private is delighted to be a sponsor of the Rugby Generation X conference which takes place in the Aviva Stadium on Saturday August 27th 2016. This is the first event of its kind to be held in Ireland and will be have over 700 delegates in attendance.

Rugby Generation X will be chaired by Craig Doyle, BT SPORTS and addressed by Irish Head Coach, Joe Schmidt. From within the game there will be some of Ireland's new and emerging professional talents such as Garry Ringrose, Luke McGrath and Ross Molony of Leinster Rugby; Andrew Conway of Munster Rugby; and Connacht Rugby’s Peter Robb.

Rugby Generation X will bring together coaches, parents and young players to provide an insight into how best to create positive and long lasting influences on kids who have a desire to play and enjoy their rugby at a safe and competitive level. Players attending will be between the ages of 13 to 17. They will gain a detailed understanding of the key areas that influence their development including mental health and fitness, strength and conditioning, nutrition and healthy eating and injury prevention and management.

Leading subject matter experts involved in the development of young rugby talent will speak at what will be a unique event in the Irish Rugby scene. The young players attending will get an opportunity to question the professionals on their rugby journey through school and club levels, and to gain their professional advice for the years ahead.

Eunan O’Carroll, Director of Core Consulting who established the Rugby Generation X conference said:

“Many of us who are parents and have children playing the game despite our best intentions, very often give them the wrong advice or direction. Rugby Generation X brings the experts involved in the development of young rugby talent together to provide expert advice to parents and players. We applaud them for doing so.”

Stephen McCarthy, MD, Allsop Ireland, commenting about Allsop Private’s sponsorship of the conference said:

“We are excited to be associated with the Rugby Generation X initiative. I believe that this type of programme is very important, not just for sport, but as a means to arm the next generation with skills, motivation and insights from experts which they can use in all areas of life”.

Also speaking at the launch of Rugby Generation X, Garry Ringrose, one of Ireland’s emerging rugby talents, commented:

“The future of Irish rugby will be determined by and large by the development and attitude of its young players. I am delighted to be involved in this event and look forward to sharing my experiences so far with all the young players who will attend”.
