Location

  • Mataró is a town located in the Maresme comarca, in the province of Barcelona. It is located to the northwestern of the Mediterranean sea and to the northeast of the Iberian peninsula.
  • Mataró town is located within the Serralada Litoral and in the Mediterranean coast. It borders with the towns of Argentona (west), Cabrera de Mar (southeast), Dosnius (north) and Sant Andreu de Llavaneres (northeast). Its coast extends to 6,5km, between the Argentona river mouth and the border with Sant Andrés de Llavaneras.
  • Transport links include access to motorways C-32 and N-II, linking the town with the rest of the comarca as well as with Barcelona, Girona and the border with France. The motorway C-60 starts in Mataró, linking the town with Granollers and the Vallès Oriental, also accesing the motorway AP-7. The road C-1415 links the town with Mollet del Vallès, going through Argentona and La Roca del Vallès. The last access is the Camí del Mig, a traditional road linking the town with the other coastal towns and that matches the old Roman Via Augusta route.
  • Transport links also include different train and bus lines linking the town with Barcelona in 40 minutes.
