BidX1’s online auctions quickly gain momentum with buyers and sellers, and properties of all types are being transacted digitally by our teams.
By 2017, BidX1 has sold over €1bn-worth of Irish real estate via auction.
BidX1 enters the UK market with the acquisition of Andrews & Robertson, one of London’s historic auction houses, established in 1855.
Pollen Street Capital, a London-based private equity house targeting tech-enabled financial & business services, make a strategic investment in BidX1 to support expansion in new and existing markets.
BidX1 launches in South Africa, forming a joint venture partnership with Pam Golding Properties, South Africa’s leading property group.
BidX1 launches in Spain and Cyprus, opening offices in Madrid and Nicosia. The first auctions in these new markets coincide with sales in Ireland, the UK and South Africa, attracting 3 million views from over 180 countries.
BidX1 secures funding from the Irish government to support further growth, via Enterprise Ireland’s Agile Innovation Fund.
Fully digital transactions, and assets across multiple markets, attract a global audience; bidders from 60+ countries are active on the platform, with buyers from over 30 countries in 2020 alone.
BidX1 and Foxtons enter a strategic partnership following £20m in auction sales that year; BidX1 become the London estate agent’s exclusive auction partner.
BidX1 achieves carbon neutrality and commits to environmental transparency by submitting its first report to the Carbon Disclosure Project, a global non-profit that oversees the world’s environmental disclosure system.
Oliver Wyman, the global management consulting firm, and doValue, the leading servicer for loan & real estate management in Southern Europe, both make strategic investments in BidX1 to support further growth.
BidX1 starts developing a new version of its auction technology for Joint Agent partners, enabling them to host online auctions on their own website as well as the BidX1 platform.
Foxtons pilot the BidX1 auction widget on their website. Within a few months, the widget is live on all auction properties, enabling bidders to participate in our joint auctions via the Foxtons website or the BidX1 platform.
Jonathan Fenn is appointed CEO of BidX1, bringing over a decade of auction experience to the role.
