BidX1 welcomed the Minister of State at the Department of Enterprise, Trade & Employment, Neale Richmond, and Ireland’s Ambassador to Spain, H.E. Frank Smyth, to their offices in Madrid this week as part of the Irish Government’s St. Patrick’s Day programme, along with a delegation from Enterprise Ireland led by Anne Lanigan, EI’s Regional Director for the Eurozone.

The delegation joined the BidX1 team for a traditional Spanish breakfast during which Jonathan Fenn, Managing Director at BidX1, and Nicole Pomeroy, the company’s Chief Marketing Officer, gave an overview of BidX1’s journey to date, as well as the firm’s experience in the Spanish market.

BidX1 opened its Spanish operations in 2019 and now has a team of 30 people in place, the majority of which are based in Madrid. The company has grown rapidly in the past three years, with more than €180m-worth of Spanish real estate available on the platform this month, providing opportunities for buyers across a range of asset types, from apartments to hotels.

Jonathan Fenn, Managing Director at BidX1, commented: “We were delighted to host Minister Richmond and Ambassador Smyth ahead of St. Patrick’s Day. It was an opportunity to reflect on BidX1’s growth in the Spanish market since 2019, but most importantly to celebrate with the people who have driven that growth – our incredible Spanish team.”

Nicole Pomeroy, Chief Marketing Officer at BidX1, said: “The support that we’ve received from Enterprise Ireland through their Agile Innovation Fund has been hugely helpful for us as we’ve scaled our platform and adapted to new markets. We were delighted to welcome them in Madrid this week and to have an opportunity to demonstrate our tech-first sales model in action.”
