Amanzingwe Lodge in Gauteng, South Africa, to be offered at online auction

A rare opportunity has arisen to acquire the well-known Amanzingwe Lodge, a 49.5ha property well positioned just 40 minutes from both Pretoria and Johannesburg and 16km from Hartbeespoort, which would be ideal for use as a healthcare facility or hospitality venue.

To be auctioned online on 30 July 2020 through BidX1, with an invited opening bid of R5 million, the property is currently operating as a lodge, conference and spa but has previously been approved for use as a healthcare facility.

Situated in a tranquil setting in Broederstroom, overlooking the countryside to the Magaliesberg mountains, this well-maintained lodge includes a total of 48 rooms comprising 10 Intaba Village suites, 8 Ingwe Village suites, 24 Thuli luxury suites, 4 family suites and 2 super luxury suites. The total coverage of the improvements is 7,558 sq. m, with 10,000 litres of water supplied via four boreholes and Eskom electricity.

In its current form, the property includes multiple offices, a casual restaurant and bar, as well as a spa and multiple outdoor pools, a spacious parking area, plus a kitchen with cold rooms, linen store, security office and chapel. There is also a conference centre with conference rooms of varying sizes.

Sold fully furnished, each of the rooms at Amanzingwe Lodge has a seating area equipped with a flat-screen satellite TV, a telephone and a minibar, while the private bathroom has a shower or bath. All the rooms have a patio or balcony with mountain and garden views.

Amanzingwe Lodge is a 7-minute walk from the Ama Zwing Zwing Zip Line Tour, 8km from the Lion & Safari Park and 7km from Pecanwood Golf & Country Club, while the Rhino & Lion Nature Reserve is 33 km away. It is also in close proximity to major attractions such as Hartbeespoort Dam.

MC du Toit, CEO of BidX1 South Africa, said: "This property has much to offer. There is scope to continue – and enhance – the existing offering, or reinvent the structures into virtually any other use."
